SCANNING TECHNICIAN – OFFICE

JOB TITLE: SCANNING TECHNICIAN

ASSISTANT III
GENERAL SUMMARY
Responsible for scanning and retrieving
documents and coordinating reproduction requests. Duties will include, but are
not limited to, the following:
- Loading, organizing, scanning, digital
editing and enhancement of 35 mm slides and photographic images
- Receiving, scanning indexing and sorting
daily mail by departments
- Scanning, sorting and indexing reports
and construction plans
- Scanning and indexing documentation
- Searching for information using the OTG
(scanning) application
- Checking index of scanned mail for
accuracy
- Other duties may be added as job
directs.
KNOWLEDGE
- Must be high school graduate or have GED
- Must have exceptional attention to
detail
- Must be familiar with PC, scanner
software and hardware
- Must be able to perform computer
searches, verify accuracy and index documents
- Prefer experience in Microsoft Office,
including Microsoft Picture Manager or Photoshop or an equivalent photo
editor and photo editing techniques
- Must read and comprehend such written and
graphic materials to understand appropriate indexing terms
- Must have mechanical abilities to use
scanner hardware
- Must write/record legible notes of
activity and correctly complete required forms
- Must solve simple mathematical problems
that may be required in normal work situations
- Must effectively communicate with
coworkers, general public, industry and/or governmental representatives
- Must use proper grammar, correct
spelling and punctuation, simple formats and filing systems
LICENSE
Valid Class “C” Texas Operator Driver’s
License
PHYSICAL EXERTION
Maximum exertion of up to 50 pounds.
Requires frequent operation of office equipment such as computer, scanner,
photocopier, telephone, facsimile, calculator, and other equipment required for
clerical operations. Requires sorting, filing, shelving and otherwise handling
related materials.
ENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSURE
Indoor
is climate controlled with normal office environment including acceptable
lighting, temperature, and air condition. Requires frequent use of video
display terminal. May be exposed to fluids, compounds and/or chemicals used in
cleaning offices and/or work areas. May be exposed to fluids, compounds,
and/or chemicals used for photographic or photocopier development or
reproduction.
